OPPO is one of the vendors from China who managed to expand the sales of their smartphones to Indonesia.

You could say this one vendor is very famous with a smartphone nicknamed the Selfie Expert starting from the F1 series using a large resolution front camera. This also led OPPO to be ranked second in Indonesia.

A few months ago, OPPO officially launched its newest Selfie Expert smartphone called F7. In addition to carrying the present design, this smartphone has also been equipped with hardware specifications and attractive features.

Full Screen Screen Design

You could say OPPO F7 has a more attractive design compared to F5. The rear body itself is equipped with a plastic coated body with the impression of glass that makes it look elegant.

OPPO F7 also looks luxurious with attractive color wrapping, starting from Solar Red, Diamond Black, and Moonlight Silver. Turning to the bottom there are speakers, microUSB 2.0 port, and a 3.5mm audio jack port.

In the right side there is a SIM Tray for the SIM card or microSD and the power button. While on the left there are separate right and left volume buttons, but sequentially vertically.

Although the volume and power buttons are far apart, I can still do a combination of screenshots. For the screen itself has a width of 6.23 inches that has Full HD + resolution (2,280 x 1,080), IPS technology, and a ratio of 19: 9.

Following the current trend, OPPO F7 itself has been equipped with bangs or notches at the top of the front which serves to store cameras, sensors and earpieces. This also makes the bezel on the screen thin. At first glance, the OPPO F7 unit I reviewed is colored Solar Red.

25 MP + AI Selfie Camera

OPPO F7 relies on a front camera with a large resolution of 25 MP with an f / 2.0 aperture and artificial intelligence or Artificial Intelligence (AI Beauty Technology 2.0) which is claimed by OPPO to produce selfies with smooth and clear results.

Even thanks to the presence of the Portrait Mode feature that allows me to be able to produce selfie photos with bokeh effects (background blur) easily and instantly. In addition, OPPO also claims that F7 is able to recognize 296 points on the face.

While the rear camera has a 16 MP resolution with an aperture of f / 1.8, Autofocus Phase Detection, and LED Flash that can produce good photos. There is even an AI Scene Recognition feature that can recognize 16 scenes at once when the rear camera is being directed to the camera.

The Portrait Mode feature that is presented also makes the rear camera can produce bokeh photos (background blur) quickly and neatly. Both the front camera and the rear camera are also equipped with Vivid Mode which can make the resulting photo color more concentrated so that it looks attractive.

For OPPO F7 users who want to try something funny on this smartphone, OPPO has provided an AR Sticker feature on their camera so they can add funny pictures to the face being photographed.

In trying the camera's toughness, I have tried taking photos with various modes, especially using Vivid Mode. For that, for Gadgets who are curious about the capabilities of the front and rear cameras, you can see the results of the following photos:

Even though the screen meets the front, OPPO doesn't forget to attach a fingerprint sensor to the back. Besides being able to quickly detect fingerprints, fingerprint sensors can also be used for the App Lock and Private Safe features.

Face Unlock

Artificial intelligence or Artificial Intelligence (AI) Recognition embedded in OPPO F7, helps to scan up to 128 points on the face so that smartphones can recognize faces more accurately and quickly.

In addition to being used for selfies, OPPO also embed it in the Face Unlock feature which allows users to quickly unlock the smartphone just to expose its face in front of the OPPO F7 front camera.

The OPPO F7 unit I reviewed has a 2 GHz GHz MediaTek Helio P60 chipset configuration complete with Mali-G72 MP3, RM 4 GB, and 64 GB of internal storage microSD can be added.

In theory on paper, this combination of hardware specifications is capable of running many applications or games smoothly. To prove it, I tried running multitasking applications and various games.

When activating a lot of applications and moving around, I feel that the OPPO F7 smartphone is capable of smoothly running applications multitasking as long as RAM capacity is not used up to full.

Later in the game session, I played various games ranging from Mobile Legends, Mobile PUBG, Arena of Valor, Honkai Impact 3, Final Fantasy XV Pocket, and Need For Speed No Limits. As a result, all games can be played smoothly without lag.

Interestingly, OPPO has presented the Game Acceleration feature on F7, allowing various games to run with high performance, ranging from the speed of animation to high graphics.

At a glance, OPPO itself has activated this feature automatically in several predetermined games so that the game can run more optimally and without lag at all.

Finally, I benchmarked OPPO F7 using the popular application AnTuTu Benchmark and Geekbench. The result is that this smartphone managed to get a score of 139,799 points for testing at AnTuTu Benchmark.

Meanwhile, testing using Geekbench managed to score 1,529 points for single-core testing and 5,801 points for multi-core testing. This Geekbench result is amazing because it can beat the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 with a score of 5,228 points on multi-core testing.

Battery Life

The battery pinned on this smartphone reaches a capacity of 3,400 mAh. Thanks to the presence of AI Battery Management and the efficiency of MediaTek Helio P60, OPPO claims that the battery life of OPPO F7 can last a long time.
To prove OPPO's claim, I tried this smartphone with a variety of daily activities, ranging from chat, SMS, social networking, taking photos, navigating with Google Maps, and others. The result is that OPPO F7 can last for 9 hours 12 minutes until the critical condition is 15%.

You could say this result is good considering the performance offered by OPPO F7 powered. As a note, I only use one SIM card on the 4G-LTE network. Of course the results will be different if I use two SIM cards at once.

ColorOS 5.0

ColorOS 5.0 is based on Android 8.1 Oreo with interesting features believed to be the operating system of OPPO F7. As usual, ColorOS offers a gesture to sweep 3 fingers from the top to the bottom to do a screenshot.

Meanwhile, the Full Screen Multitasking feature that is present on this smartphone will display an application icon or a notification alerting chat, telephone or SMS applications so it won't disturb users while playing games or watching videos.

The navigation button on the OPPO F7 can also be hidden and replaced with a predetermined gesture to make the screen look full. The Split Screen feature is also present in this smartphone which makes it easy for users to be able to run two applications at once on one screen.

In addition to holding the Recent button, the Split Screen feature can be accessed with a 3-finger sweep gesture from the center to the bottom of the screen. You could say there are still many features that are presented by OPPO on ColorOS 5.0.

OPPO F7 is very superior on the front camera that has 25 MP resolution plus artificial intelligence or Artificial Intelligence so that it can smartly produce selfies or wefies with great results.

Regarding performance, this smartphone is arguably powerful thanks to the combination of MediaTek Helio P60, 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can produce many applications or games with minimal lag.

The full screen size of the 19: 9 ratio offered by this smartphone can also be considered interesting because it makes the user's eyes more comfortable in watching videos and playing games. Unfortunately the rear body is easily dirty with fingerprints, but this is not something that is too problematic because it can be added to the additional casings included in the sales package.

With features, hardware specifications, performance, and cameras offered, making OPPO F7 can be an attractive choice at a price of Rp. 4.199,000 for 4 GB RAM variants + 64 GB ROMs and Rp. 5.499,000. However, OPPO F7 is not embedded in NFC technology, even though at such a price range, it can get the technology.
