AsusPro is a series of commercial devices that Asus designed to meet business standards. The product range is very broad, including desktop PCs , all-in-one , mini-computers, laptops to peripherals such as projectors. There are three principles that the Taiwanese manufacturer puts forward in preparing AsusPro, namely quality, reliability and flexibility to support productivity. And for the sake of innovation, they also do not hesitate to make an overhaul.

This week, Asus announced a change they had implemented on the AsusPro line. Going forward, these products are introduced as Expert Series - and the laptop model is called ExpertBook. This variant seems designed as an expansion of the AsusPro concept by prioritizing design aspects. At the Expert Series launch event, Asus raised the theme Business in Sytle.

Asus explains, accuracy and speed are indeed crucial parts of work support devices. But along with the transformation in the office environment, professionals are starting to be demanded to be able to work flexibly - including in public places. That means they not only need PCs with high performance and concise design, attractive appearance is also an important consideration factor.

There are five business laptop models that Asus showed off yesterday, four are ExpertBook variants (some still carry AsusPro branding ) and another is a Chromebook. They are ExpertBook P3540, ExpertBook P5440, ExpertBook P1440, and ExpertBook B9940.

The business products are said to have passed military standard trials with the MIL-STD 810G certification, to ensure the notebook has a high resistance to collisions and shocks, as well as other accidental incidents.

Access and security

Not a professional notebook name if it is not supported by layered security features. First, ExpertBook has a protection system that functions to deactivate physical ports and other I / O facilities so that the laptop is protected from attempts of data theft or virus infection due to negligence when transferring files . Second, manufacturers also include a series of essential technologies such as Microsoft Trusted Platform Module and Intel vPro.

There, Asus provides a 'control center' feature that allows IT admins to directly monitor all Expert Series devices (not just ExpertBook) in their company. In addition, the manufacturer does not forget the after sales service. The majority of members of the Expert Series family are supported by a 'business class' guarantee whose duration exceeds the standard warranty period, reaching three years. Services after-sales not only covers hardware , but software as well as solutions.

ExpertBook P3540

This laptop is described as a solid type and 'high stamina'. The design is quite conventional, utilizing a clamshell structure  with a fairly thin screen frame on the right and left side. Because the gray volume is not too small, Asus can put a series of important connectivity, from USB, LAN, USB type- C, SD card slot, VGA port , and do not forget the search fingerprint scanner near the touchpad for easy log-in .

The ExPertBook P3540 features a 15.6-inch FHD anti-glare screen , and in it, it stores an eighth generation Intel Core processor (i3-8146U, i5-8266U and i7-8666U), discrete Nvidia GeForce MX110 graphics card , hard drive based storage up to 1TB, and DDR4 RAM memory up to 20GB.

ExpertBook P5540

There are three things that become the mainstay of the ExpertBook P5440, namely the dual storage system, long battery life (up to 10 hours) and light weight (only 1.23-kilograms). The notebook offers a 14-inch 1080p screen with a brightness level of 300- nits and an engraving swivel 180 degrees so that the panel can be aligned chassis , then the experience of working in dim situations becomes more comfortable thanks to the backlight system on the keyboard .

Trinkets connectivity is almost similar to the P3540, including the fingerprint sensor , minus the VGA port. Speaking of hardware , the specifications of the ExpertBook P5540 are slightly below that of its sibling. Asus only provides an Intel Core i5-8265U 1.65GHz processor model, integrated GPU Intel Graphics 630 and 4GB DDR4 RAM memory. The advantage, the laptop is equipped with a dual PCIe M.2 SSD.

ExpertBook P1440

The P1440 is the most affordable ExpertBook variant, but Asus doesn't sacrifice its flexibility factor. This laptop with a 14-inch 1366x768p screen is still supported by important ports : three USB 3.0, one USB 2.0, HDMI, LAN and there is also wireless connectivity in the form of Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.1. The P1440 also has a fingerprint sensor, but the presentation is swipe - not touch . The laptops are Intel Core i5-8250U processor, and are supported by 4GB RAM, 1TB HDD storage and integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 GPU .

Two things need to be underlined: It seems that there is a model option with an Nvidia discrete graphics card , then (maybe because it is prioritized on affordability) the P1440 is only covered by a two-year warranty.

ExpertBook B9440

Personally, the B9440 is the most attractive ExpertBook laptop. Its body is very slim, and because of the use of a thin bezel , Asus can compress a 14-inch 1920x1080p 300-nits screen on the body with a 13-inch form-factor . What is unique about the B9440's design is that when the panel is opened, the bottom area of the screen will lift the back of the chassis - making it tilt. This is intended to make the position of the hands and fingers more comfortable when you type.

ExpertBook B9440 has a fairly capable hardware layout , although so far there is no choice of Intel i7 processors. Inside, you'll find an Intel Core i5-8265U CPU, GPU UHD Graphics 620, 16GB DDR4 RAM, and 512GB SSD M.2 PCIe NVMe storage medium. For physical connectivity, Asus includes USB type -C Gen-1 and type -C Gen-2 USB ports on the edges.

Since they are all enterprise / commercial products, Asus has not revealed the price details of each laptop, but they have confirmed that all ExpertBooks are available in Indonesia.
